This is the genuine article, no more flimsy directors' chairs, the specification of our director's chairs (or Tennis chairs as the Edwardians knew them) ensures that they are built to last, the quality is second to none.
Now upholstered in cowhide (or sheepskin - let's discuss), we have taken this iconic British chair and transformed it in to a stunning piece of high quality furniture for inside the home, in the garden, by the sports pitch or on the beach.
Imagine the glances of envy when these come out at the point to point, polo or cricket match, no more canvas or acrylic seats just 100% cowhide!
Available in our full range of hides, the cowhide seats are stitched on to taupe coloured canvas backings for added support, comfort and durability. Also available in sheepskin.
Colours
If your preferred colours are not on this list please let us know, as cowhides can be dyed to order. If in doubt about a colour please ask for a swatch. Colours below and swatches are indicative only. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions section 9.1.
Merpauh Frame
The frames are made from merpauh which is classified by the Timber Research and Development Association as a durable hardwood (it is very similar to teak). They define durable as 15-25 years in contact with the ground. The merpauh which we use is sourced from selectively logged MTCC certified forests in Malaysia. The principles and criteria of the MTCC are based on those of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
